Direct Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Form – This PSLF form is a form which you have to fill out in order to apply for the Public Service loan forgiveness program. The PSLF is a program that allows to have your loans forgiven within 10 years after you have served. To be eligible for this program, you need to work full-time for a qualified employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re confused about what qualifies as an employer that is qualified, these are the items that can be considered qualifying:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health or non-profit health care institution
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For Direct Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Form?
You can qualify for PSLF only if you hold an eligible loan and have made the required 120 payments on that loan. You may be able file for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying installments, but you must apply for it for it within 10 years from the commencement of your repayment period.
You do not have to submit a claim for PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payment before you file for it.
